Mark is a successful FTSE 250 HR Director turned consultant. After graduating in Chemistry and a brief stint in the industrial chemicals sector, Mark changed track and retrained into HR. His early HR career provided a solid grounding in the unionised public sector, and his last two in-house HR roles have been senior leadership positions in global blue chip manufacturing companies through periods of intense change.
In previous job positions Mark has been responsible for reward, engagement, recruitment, talent, L&D, comms, diversity, legal compliance, HR systems, management development, organisational design, wellbeing and CSR.
Mark set up his own HR practice in 2017 and has since been engaged in various interim and project roles around business transformation which have been very hands on. He also has a passion for developing the HR Strategy to support the business, particularly around developing individuals and teams. He says people would describe him as international, numerate, ethical, pragmatic and commercial.
What drives and intrigues him is creating work teams that do brilliant work, have fun, volunteer for responsibility and take care of one and other. Outside of work Mark loves to be outdoors cycling or hiking, and serves on the board of trustees for Caring in Bristol.
