Shelley Morgan

Areas of specialism / interest:

Shelley is the joint Head of our Investigations and Employee Relations service and she has conducted numerous complex and sensitive investigations, often involving serious allegations of discrimination, whistleblowing and bullying and harassment.

She works with clients in a range of sectors including local authorities, large NHS Trusts, higher education institutions, financial services, technology, retail, utilities, construction and manufacturing.  
 
Examples of Shelley’s recent work include: 

  • Extensive and complex grievance investigation for a high-profile organisation into allegations of race discrimination, disability discrimination and whistleblowing detriments involving senior executives and members of the board.
  • Investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against a senior executive of a large financial services company.  
  • Leading a whistleblowing investigation into a collective complaint brought by 8 individuals against senior executives within an NHS Trust.  
  • Investigation into a detailed grievance involving allegations of equal pay, bullying and harassment and sex discrimination.  
  • Investigation into a collective grievance raised by a union on behalf of their members which sought to challenge a local authority’s pay and grading system, specifically the application of the organisation’s job evaluation process.  
  • Oversight of multiple investigations and hearings (conducted with delegated authority) for various companies that form part of a large retail group.  

Background

Prior to joining ibex gale, Shelley was a senior employment lawyer at a top 100 law firm providing commercial, practical and strategic advice. She regularly provided complex employee relations advice, and she advised on business re-organisations, changes to terms and conditions, and other large-scale projects. Shelley also managed complex employment tribunal litigation, where she successfully resolved multiple discrimination and equal pay claims.
