With extensive experience in employee relations and employment law, Melanie has a broad range of skills, from adeptly conducting complex investigations often involving discrimination to chairing hearings and providing interim employee relations support to clients. Melanie brings a calm approach to supporting stakeholders through challenging situations, balancing the need for sensitivity with a clear, practical focus on resolution.  

Her work often includes allegations of workplace bullying, discrimination (including victimisation and harassment) and whistleblowing.  
 
Examples of Melanie’s recent work include: 

  • Investigation into allegations of whistleblowing detriment made by an employee facing disciplinary action.  
  • Investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and bringing the organisation into disrepute, for a large NHS Trust.  
  • Providing interim employee relations support to a large financial services client.   
  • Investigation into a detailed and complex grievance involving a number of allegations of bullying and sexual harassment brought against a senior executive and the Chief Executive Officer.

Background

Melanie’s extensive employee relations and employment law experience has been gained through her ER and HR roles in the financial sector, including at American Express, and in the technology and electronic sector while working for the National Air Traffic Services. Prior to joining ibex gale, she worked as a senior consultant at a boutique employment law and employee relations firm, providing support and advice to a diverse range of clients from small local businesses to multinational blue chips.
