Kimberley undertakes high profile, complex investigations and independent reviews, which often involve senior and Board level members of staff.

Kimberley leads many of our Patient Safety Culture Reviews, often for large NHS Trusts, and works closely with our Culture team to identify any leadership, cultural and governance issues that may be impacting patient safety and care quality in an organisation. Drawing on her extensive experience working with the healthcare sector, Kimberley provides clear, actionable recommendations that support meaningful improvement.  

Examples of Kimberley’s recent work includes: 

  • Patient Safety Culture Review across two Directorates and multiple service areas for an NHS Group, to support the development of a positive safety culture; 
  • Independent review for an NHS Trust relating to management of complaints, DATIX incident reports and concerns raised by staff over a five-year period to identify any learning and assist the organisation to move forward;  
  • Complex MHPS investigation into a range of clinical concerns and behavioural allegations against a Divisional Medical Director for a large NHS Trust; 
  • Freedom to Speak Up Investigation following concerns raised by a group of 10 Consultants at a large NHS Trust;  
  • Complex investigation into concerns raised about medicine management in a Pharmacy; and 
  • Council of Governors investigation into behavioural allegations for an NHS Foundation Trust.

Background

Kimberley is a non-practising healthcare regulatory solicitor, who for over 10 years has provided support and advice to health and social care organisations in relation to CQC compliance and regulatory action, and incident/complaint management and inquests. Kimberley has also represented regulated clinicians in fitness-to-practise investigations, from the initial complaint and any interim order proceedings through to final hearing.
