Emma Alexander

Emma is an experienced investigator with a background in employment law and is a qualified personal performance coach. She is adept at conducting complex investigations in a sensitive and compassionate manner.

Since joining ibex gale, Emma has worked on a variety of matters, including culture reviews. Emma’s focus is on investigations, and she has extensive experience of conducting complex investigations into allegations such as bullying, sexual harassment, race discrimination and victimisation.  

Examples of Emma’s recent work include the following:   

  • Fact-finding investigation for a regulatory body into concerns about bullying behaviours of two senior managers, including making findings regarding lack of psychological safety for staff and lack of appropriate governance for the project.
  • Grievance investigation into allegations of sex discrimination, together with two counter-allegations of bullying, for a charitable organisation. 
  • Investigation into grievances raised by partners in a professional private sector organisation against each other, including allegations of fraud, together with an associated employee grievance. 
  • Investigation into allegations of inappropriate relationships involving a senior consultant at an NHS Trust, conducted in line with MHPS requirements. 
  • Hearing and determining the outcomes following disciplinary findings about senior executives on behalf of a private sector organisation.

Background

Emma’s career started as an employment lawyer in private practice, dealing with a wide range of work, from advising on employee relations matters, organisational change, and TUPE to representing clients at tribunal. Following a period working in-house for a pharmaceutical company, Emma worked as an independent consultant conducting investigations, and providing HR advice to a number of clients, before joining ibex gale in 2020.
